Dr.

As a school psychologist, my philosophy is rooted in the belief that education is a dynamic, relational process that fosters not only academic growth but also emotional, social, and ethical development. I am deeply committed to fostering environments where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to engage meaningfully with their learning. Through my approach, I aim to cultivate a reflective and student- centered practice, grounded in evidence-based methods that address both academic and socio-emotional development.

I believe in using a strengths-based approach that emphasizes building on student's individual assets, while also addressing barriers to learning and growth. This involves fostering an environment where all students, regardless of their ability, race, or socio-economic status, have access to opportunities that allow them to thrive. I strive to model and teach students how to recognize and respect diversity, build cultural competence, and develop empathy for others.

I recognize the central importance of mental health and social-emotional well-being in the overall success of students. I prioritize and support the social-emotional development of our students, as these factors are often key drivers of academic success. By integrating concepts such as resilience, emotional regulation, and self-efficacy into the curriculum, I aim to equip students with the tools to address mental health challenges in schools. I also emphasize the importance of self-care and mental wellness, acknowledging that to effectively support others, we must first take care of ourselves.
